Watch boats pass along the Connecticut River, look across to Goodspeed Opera House + the East Haddam Swing Bridge, or settle onto a bench and enjoy the waterfront.

Eagle Landing’s 16 acres offer a simple riverside stop, with walkways, a fishing pier + access for launching a canoe or kayak. In winter, bring binoculars and watch for bald eagles along the river.

• Open daily, 8 a.m. to sunset.
• Leashed dogs welcome.
• January + February are especially good months for eagle watching.
• A fishing pier + car-top boat access are available.
• Keep children close around the docks + river’s edge.
