ABOUT //
A wooded shoreline, reservoir views + cascading water at the old dam make Higganum Reservoir a lovely place to explore close to town. Follow the white-blazed trail maintained by the Haddam Land Trust, find a shoreline fishing spot, or bring a canoe or kayak for time on the water.

The dam and surrounding woods offer plenty to notice, whether you’re stopping for a short walk or staying a little longer.

GOOD TO KNOW //
• Trail parking is available at the base of the dam off Route 81.
• Additional trail access + a carry-in boat launch are off Dish Mill Road.
• Parking is limited; there are no toilets at the boat launch.
• Leashed dogs welcome.
• Hunting is permitted in designated areas. Check current seasons + wear bright orange during hunting season.
